Unable to enter a Turkish (+90) phone number when purchasing an eSIM

Hi! I’m traveling to Portugal soon and I would like to purchase a Vodafone Portugal eSIM online before my arrival. I’m also currently a Vodafone customer in Turkey.

However, when I proceed with the purchase, I’m asked to enter a phone number. The country code list does not include Turkey (+90), so I’m unable to enter my Turkish phone number and continue with the purchase.

I currently don’t have a Portuguese phone number, as I haven’t arrived in Portugal yet.

Could you please let me know how I can complete the purchase as a customer with a Turkish phone number? Is there another way to proceed without a Portuguese number?

Hello @SimayDoruk,

If you wish to purchase the eSIM for Portugal and Europe, by clicking “Buy eSIM”, you can select your country’s dialing code, making it possible to acquire it even without having a Portuguese number.

For the eSIM that is exclusive to Portugal, however, you must have a Portuguese number to subscribe.

Hi, thank you for your response. However, this is exactly the issue I’m experiencing. When I click “Buy eSIM” for the Portugal and Europe eSIM and open the list of country dialing codes, Turkey (+90) is not available as an option. Therefore, I’m unable to enter my Turkish phone number and proceed with the purchase.

Could you please advise me on how I can proceed if +90 is not available in the list?

The main way to be contacted regarding your purchase is via email, to which an email containing the eSIM’s QR code will be sent.

You can enter a number with a different country code, as the contact number is only required for registration purposes.

I have two more questions regarding the Portugal & Europe eSIM.

After completing the purchase, how long does it usually take to receive the eSIM by email? Is the email with the QR code sent immediately after the payment is completed?

Also, you previously mentioned that I can purchase and use this eSIM without having a Portuguese phone number. However, the phone number field on the purchase page is mandatory and cannot be left blank. Since Turkey (+90) is not available in the list of country codes, what should I enter in this field in order to complete my purchase?

Hello SimayDoruk,

The eSIM is sent by email shortly after purchase.

On the purchase form, you can change the country code, which is set to +351 by default, to +90.
